Small update to this rebirth, Finally got the storm up and running after sorting the snapped front exhaust stud. The Microns sound fantastic. Needs balancing but took for a little shake down spin up the road and goes very well. With the mechanicals 95% sorted thought I would get back on the body work so as a tester finished the seat hump. I have sprayed and lacquered the undertray and tail unit but just need to hit them with the 1200 wet and dry then compound. The seat hump however is finished.

Cheers Watty, I'm quite pleased with the finish on it, once the lacquer hardens more i'll hit it a bit harder with the compound and should be like a mirror when done, not far off it now as it was quite overcast when I took that photo.

So you've seen the back, now for the front. Just the orange painted but will be spraying the black tomorrow. Don't worry about the orange mess at the bottom middle as that's going to be black. I'll post the fully painted nose tomorrow.

Apart from a little touch up, pearl white and lacquer the nose is finished.

Inner fairing panels just need to be lacquered and radiator grills have had one side painted and will paint other side tomorrow.

After sitting staring at the bike naked I wasn't entirely happy with how it looked so I stripped off the calipers, clip ons, cam covers, front fairing/clock mount and bar end weights. These have been taken for powdercoating. Even though I had sprayed the calipers and cam covers the paint wasn't durable enough especially due to the brake fluid so opted for this plus hopefully they can colour match a bit better than Halfords orange paint.

Radiators and oil cooler have been removed and sprayed up black. The right side had a leak at the very top when up to temp it would drip out so just waiting on the replacement. The oil cooler and left radiator have been sprayed and the radiator mesh have been sprayed gloss black. All in high temp paint.





Once the parts are back from the powder coaters I'll post up the results.

Plus the clean and resprayed exhaust, radiators, oil lines and oil cooler

I wont bore people with the on going partial paint pics but after looking at the original design and trying to make it fit and still look right it doesn't work on the style fairings, tried another design off the SP1 but again with fairing style it would be too far from original to look any good so I have gone with my own design that I hope will work. Tank will be finished by end of this week and I will post up a pic of it complete. Then you can give your honest opinion of what it does for you. or just

Look the grills look great but that Rads too big for the bike. Thats a central heating one Looks a stunning job. Just get it built
