VTR Pheonix
As promised here is my build so far.
I cant take credit for all the work as picked it up as a rolling chassis already powder coated so that has pushed me in the colour direction I'm headed. Hope you guys like what you see so far but I do know it will not be to everyone's taste but all feedback/suggestions positive or negative greatly received.
Just a rundown on what's been completed and fitted so far.
Frame, swingarm, subframe, wheels and footrests all powder coated.
rear shock stripped, cleaned, powder coated and rebuilt.
Engine rebuilt by me (after checking turns out timing was off so decided to strip and rebuild)
Re-sprayed engine and engine components.
Samco coolant pipes
Hel braided front and rear brake lines
Braided clutch line
Complete Fireblade 929 front end.
New bearings EVERYWHERE.
All new bolts where they couldn't be cleaned
Renthral rear sprocket
Renthral grips
Wavey front and rear brake discs
Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt brake callipers and master cylinders.
Painted rear calliper (front to paint yet)
Valve covers re-sprayed (new cover bolts on order)
Pyramid rear hugger
Orange chain
Clear rear light
So come on guys let me have it.

Looking good I hope the fairing is going back on
I'd suggest (especially as there's lots of powder coat) taking the reg/rec earth direct to battery (or splice so it's an extra direct earth) That's not the earth tab in the picture bolted to the unit, it's the earth in the block connector.
Guessing it'll be black with orange graphics/lettering ?

I've shaved off the powder coating under the heatsink, will that not be enough to earth?

Wrong lol

I got lucky with the wheelie bin, took the photos about a week before joining lol
You close with the colours but not quite. Think 2010 blade with a little twist.

Thanks Alan and Kev, I'll put a pic of what I'm going for and let me know if it's going to work or not?

Re: VTR Pheonix
That's not the reg/rec earth, well not directly anyway, the earth goes into the loom and shares earths through the bike, as your that far into the bike how hard is it to earth to battery, the wiring is old every little helps. It should be fine as it is, but it's a known problem with these and Honda's in general, you already have the better reg/rec but earthing direct should keep it good for good.VTR Phoenix wrote:popkat wrote:Looking good I hope the fairing is going back on

Re: VTR Pheonix
Ok, so here is the colour scheme I am going for (unless you guys have a better idea of a colour scheme) Only difference to this is that I am changing the silver/grey to a pearl white.
