I'm gonna have a go at painting the frame this eve, gonna use rude boy lens tint so hopefully you'll still be able to see the brushed ally under the black lacquer. That's the theory anyway, if it's too glossy it'll get a coat of satin lacquer over the top.

Yes it will Lloydie, years ago I did an exhaust wrap and it smoked for ages. Almost shat myself when I pulled into a petrol station and realised it was actually on fire!

Cheers fab!

Did you use a high temp paint for this? Normal paint wont be durable enough and will start to flake pretty quick. Looks really nice though, got me thinking about taking mine out and spraying black.

Cheers Duffy!

Right, I don't know what to do..... I tried out the black tinted lacquer last night on a spanner and I don't like the look of it. What do people think to a satin black frame? Think if I go dowm this route I'll sand and Polish the cast bits on the frame so I get a uniform finish. Would love some feedback.

I'm building a Streetfighter (very slowly) I have a satin Black frame with gun metal grey engine and I'm sending the engine casings and rocker covers off for a gloss black finish as i am shite at painting lol

So I recon a satin black frame will look good

Satin is good , mat is nasty, gloss looks wrong .
