Track bike progress

Post by Miztaziggy »

Decided against the full on track fairings in the end, mainly because of the hassle of it, but also because the tank would look odd unless I got it all painted to match, and then I'm spending the sort of money I could use for forks and shock upgrade.

So I decided to stick on a new exhaust (£150), some adjustable rear sets (£71 + import duty of about £16), levers (£15), strip off all the lights and put a cover over the front light so it can't be seen.
I'm happy with all that for £250.

Brake calipers have been sent off to Jonesy for a strip, clean and service.

Next up oil & filter, air filter, plugs and coolant.

Just need some new tyres now and I'll be ready for Silverstone next month :D

it's there to stop people sticking up the inside on right handers. Saves having to hang your leg out.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Lol yeah in the rear pic it does look quite far out.

Doesn't look that way in real life. The link pipe is bog standard Suzuki just with the servo butterfly thing removed. The can just bolts on to the standard 4 bolt flange, so it's in the same position as standard.

Now it's stripped down I'm going to have difficulty testing it before a track day. Maybe have to do it late at night on a quiet road to make sure nothing's going to fall off

Finally got round to putting the finishing touches to it.

Fitted a solid black cover on the headlight and stuck it in place with the 3M stuff I use for gopro mounts, that's not coming off for a while :-)

Also put a black vinyl wrap over the rear light so it blends in with the fairing now. Almost looks like a track fairing.

Very last job is now going to be finding a way to clean brake fluid off the bloody brakes as they're squeaking and just feel rubbish, I dread to think how bad they'll be at speed.
