My VTR

So, I thought I should make my own post for my bike, since it's a project and I can put all of the stoff in one post. The story is that I hit a car that vane from a side road, and didn't see me, so I hit his left front wheel.

I started to do some work, like change the seat frame, 'cause it was a bit twisted by the crash. I had a top box with a helmet inside, so it got pretty heavy back there! The past owner of the bike also welded the seat frame 1cm longer to raise the back higher. Not good for the passenger! Bought a used part and sandblasted and painted it black.

I also sandblasted the exhaust, but I'm not sure what to do to them yet. Startet with some Autosol, just to have a try...

I have a dream for the rims to be like this:

The chrome on the old ones makes me sick, so I've started to sandblast and they will be powdercoated black

This is as far as I've come by 08.06.16.
To be continued...

Wow that got smashed. Have you checked the forks and steering to make sure it's all good. Those headers came up great. I recently done mine, wish I had a sandblaster. I used Wet N Dry (Silicone carbide) paper and elbow grease.

The forks are a bit bent from the lower yoke, but I was lucky so it seems to change the pipes and have an overhaul is enough.
The Yoshis survived
Your exhaust looks great! (If that's allowed to say... :shh: ) Aren't they some nasty work to stay clean?

Saturday evenings work turned out like this. Love the polish rondell for the grinder! Made the job so much easier

I used the grinder on one half of the disc to show the difference.

One disc grinded, one disc rusty

Lots of lovely shinyness. I wish I had one of those wheels. I spent 2 whole days rubbing down my header pipes.

Really impressed with the finish using those wheels

I have been looking around Carl & they seem to be called "Felt Flap" I've only seen the ones made by Dronco

The different colour of material = different grade
