No Kev, sorry.

More bends arrived today.. I think I'm going around the friggin bend tbh.

I was up early this morning & since it was a nice day I did a bit down the shed with this faffin exhaust.

Here's some pictures. One things for certain, it's gonna get toasty.

Still things to sort, tacking up the lower pipe, sleeves & spring fastenings etc.

I feel I'm getting there, but it looks as if it's going to get too hot tbh.

it looks awesome, just weld it up like that

ride it and see what gets burnt and then put a heat shield there :D

That looks mental. Defo some heat shielding needed there. I can't wait to hear what that sounds like.

No...not heat wrap like the stuff the US wrap around pipes. A plate coming out from the frame wrapping over the pipes where your inside leg will be. Put some reflective heat shield on the inside of the plate too. It will at least deflect some of the rising heat away and stop burns. The bottom (rear) pipe maybe more of an issue. ou will most likely need some refective heat shielding under the seat too.

I did think about fitting heat shielding a while back, something similar to what genuine flat trackers have.

Now I think it's a certainty, I think that things like large heat shields can go ugly/wrong very quickly too.

I was thinking of making a plug mould from two bits of rain guttering. Reduce the diameter of each length at one end with heat & screw it to some shaped bits of 60mm round wood.

Then screw the two lengths together parallel'ish with wood in-between.

It doesn't make sense typing it, but I'm hoping to achieve a guard that looks like two megaphones together.

It's been a long day, sorry

After all the sweat and tears, I think you've done very well in getting the exhaust system to this stage, it looks really good 8)

As for the heat shield(s), it will most likely be more trial and error again as you did with the pipework and cans, although hopefully not quite as much of a pain :)

I think I get that, sort of a tapered pair of half round covers :eh:

Keep up the good work, you're nearly there with the exhaust side of things

Chris.

Vara,

Looking good mate.

There are plenty of heat shields on good old flea bay etc.

Keep going

It was a really nice day yesterday, so I dragged the bike out to make sure the shortened seat looked ok & that the exhaust was ready for welding up.

What do you recon?

Any changes that I should do before I Tig it up?

Just a thought but does the wheel clear the front pipe under full compression?
Looking good though mate, well done so far.
