Many thanks Al for all your hard work, and time you put into get the site back-up and running again :D

 You can't get away with much on here

If you want to use the full width of your browser window then go into your user control panel --> Board Preferences --> Edit Display Options then select "yes" on the "Use maximum width" option.
Maximum width for me works much better than before, as it fills my 24" monitor to the maximum :D whereas the old version didn't, you always had a border each side.

So far that video works for me, I'm on a desktop pc running W10 with Anniversary update installed,

Oops you're right Wicky, it doesn't work in https. I assumed, obviously wrongly now, with this new version we would automatically be using https and not http,

http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 72#p436865

Its cos the forum plugin/ extension can't handle https you tube embedded video, we have to edit out the 's' of https when linking via phpbb code - and then when viewing the forum via https it throws up the error / non appearance due to mixed embedded insecure content.

Ideally the forum needs to be 'forced' to https and a more versitile video plug-in/ extension installed able to work with https embedded video to keep it consistent. And versatile enough to show different embedded video sources i.e vimeo etc.

Whoop, whoop. Good work Al, must have been a ball-ache. Site migrations are a pain in the butt.

https is a must, especially with the login - http means the password info isn't encrypted as far as I know. If you're one of the billions of folks who use the same password for multiple sites/apps then you're at greater risk.

Google are doing their level best to force the interweb to go https. If you use Chrome you'll notice the 'Secure' notice in the address bar. Non-https site show an exclamation mark in a circle. Expect this to become a massive 'unsecured' notice sometime this year.

Can I note that the (much used by me) zoom capability for the text is no longer there....

There used to be 2 letter ''A''s in the top right corner, under the user login - so I could enlarge the text. Now, I can't.

MacV2 kindly suggested going into my display settings in the User Control Panel....but there is no zoom capability there.

Us older farts don't have the keen eyesight of the younger ones....which all these websites seem to be catered for! Even with me shuttle re-entry shield glasses, it's still a bit of a struggle without that text enhancing AA option.

OK, fair enough, I am now sitting a LOT closer to the screen as I was before...

...but if it gets any smaller, I'll be physically sitting on the desk with my nose hard against the monitor!

Thank you muchly.

Hi. I'm sure everyone appreciates your hard work restoring this great website. It seems more than 3 days being unable to browse. Thanks again.
