Just wondering if anyone has ever meddled with a side draught carb fitted to a VTR?
I will have to go this way for the Tracker project I am building, as there will be no room above the rocker covers.
I am looking at either a Harley carb or Weber dcoe.
I have a set of Weber 40's on a 2ltr Fiat 131 Super mirafiori engine & I am thinking of borrowing one for the project.

Thanks for that guys, I had seen pictures of that bike a while ago but had forgotten about it.
It sounds really well with that carb on, crisp'n snappy.

I have seen a 45 DCOE fitted to a V Max. A guy sprints it, goes very well too.

Thanks, slow progress atm though..
Because there is no base bike, every part is going to have to be purchased individually & its a bit of a faf.
Some bits can wait & some are needed to progress to the next stage.
In between sourcing parts just to get a rolling chassis, I've been looking at & learning about various flattrack Harley carb setups.
One idea I have is maybe running a single or a pair of fcr 40's from a Honda crf450.
They can be had for around £150 each which isn't too bad. I missed one for £100 the other day, but I'd already bought a Vtr caliper & carrier (Wheel spacer) & exhaust..
It's starting to add up already, gulp.
