Hi all.
Just picked up a 1998 firestorm with 19000 on it.
As I'm more used to screaming fours, it seems to make some unusual noises and I'm after a bit of reassurance.
It seems to knock quite loudly from the rear cylinder area when under load at lowish revs, (up to about 3500/4000 revs.)
You can actually feel the knock.
It all goes quiet after that.
Seems to run ok all the way through and pulls like a train.
I want to hear that this is mormal, but I've got a bad feeling.
Please don't depress me!

well
I'll do it
I think it may be that it's time to change cam chain tensioners.
19000 - about time to.
Better do it ASAP - not much of work but will get your mind to peace
To make it in safe way - see advice below in this section of forum

you do not really absolutely must remove cam shafts covers, but you at least will need to set marks on crankshaft to positions in which rear and front cylinders (accordingly - for rear or fron CCT) camchaft lobes will clear valves so no valve springs tension will be applied to camshaft lobes.
