How not to do things!

Post by bluesman »

Today went out for ride. Started from place I live with idea to park bike in garage at new place (I am moving) and drive back in cage ;)

Couple of days ago I been taking tank off to measure for conversion to VFR800 tank, and of course removed vacuum hose from fuel tap - and as I found today by mistake I've put it on drain of fuel tap instead of vacuum...
I managed to drive about 5 km, then bike started to lose power like if no fuel. Stopped, checked all over - started again. 1 km later - again. I managed to do about 10 km until I realized that vacuum hose at wrong place - but look, I drove 10 km by then!!!
Brilliant bike, so forgiving.
Of course I stopped by side of road, undone 2 bolts on front of tank, moved vacuum hose and went - no problem.

What a stupid mistake...I was so ashamed by myself - but on other hand, I managed to identify problem right away, so - ashamed and proud!
