welcome along john... first of, WTF happened to the subframe lol.... you will get all the info on here and pretty much all the parts you need, we have a few hoarders on the site that will sort you out...

as for the turd. iv seen a lot worse turn out into nice bikes. dont ask me how i know that lol.. i am the turd buyer :clap: :clap: :clap:

i dont know if this is a good or bad thing but its a very early vin number its a 1996 but all the parts lists i have seen are from 1997?

V on your VIN = 1997 first year of production on early models till 2001 when later model with subtle changes was introduced - last one out of Hamamatsu, Japan was 2005.

i can see what you are saying but the bike was registered 1996 so how can that be

Where does it say it was registered in 96?

If so maybe a preproduction show bike that got out early for journo road testing?? :confused
