Oh dear, my baby broke down at 38,000 miles. Was riding along and heard this flapping sound, but a bit like a plastic bag flapping in the wind. Stopped at the petrol station and it was a loud ticking sound like something going round and hitting a casing. Thought about the CCT's, but I'd ridden 10 miles like it convincing myself that something had attached itself to the front of the bike and was flapping (at about 100 mph) Anyway, filled up and presed the starter which only clicked. Bump start with three mates (in 3rd!) and it started then died, possibly flooded but didn't want to take any chances so the nice RAC people took me and the bike home. Its in for new chain and sprockets and carb balance anyway, but anyone got any ideas? If it was CCT's then the starter would still engage? Tried it before it was picked up tonight and it did turn on the starter but sounded horrible.
Is this the price I pay for beating a CBR600RR and a GSXR1000 through the twisties on the A483 toward Newton this weekend!
