Tony, I am not sure if it's a sign of the times in this case re: closure of the Food Stop Cafe at Quatford, but it's getting harder and harder to make a profit and stay in business, so many are folding, Sad times when it's a place you have been attending for decades. Is there any chance it could be saved I wonder?

yep, sign of the times... It really hacks me off sometimes to listen to the old guys (I guess that's me  ) moaning about the price of the food and drinks there... Its really hard to make a living these days, particularly when it's so seasonal and weather dependant with the bikes...

The good news though is the pub 150 yards up the road has converted their function room into a car and bike themed cafe... it looks great and I am sure it will do well... nice large carpark as well...

Yes of course the weather makes all the difference in a business like that.
Good to hear someone else up the road is filling the gap, I hope it all goes well for them,

What foam is it?
I have just cut out a seat base and was going to have a go at making the the cover myself!

If I can't make a cover it will just have the Plastazote foam glued to the base:-)

Just checked the foam place, it's plastazote. I have enough 3/8" foam as long as it glues OK.
What have you glued it together with. I was going to try contact adhesive.

Any problem sanding the foam if your sanding the glue?

It does glue OK with Contact Adhesive... BUT... it does not sand that well when glued

well... I sold the honda... I just missed that V twin grunt

I have been agonising what to build next... I usually have something at the back of the garage ready... but nothing took my fancy... then last week I met a guy down the cafe and we got talking,, he said he had a bike he might sell, he has owned it from new... and when he mentioned what it was... I though "why have I never looked at one before!"

so the deal is done... I will post pictures soon, it will arrive in a few days...

Bit of a tease I know... anyone guess what it is? the only clue is its a big V twin :biggrin

well the tease is over... :biggrin here it is. Its a 2001 Buell Cyclone. Its a 1200cc Harley engine, tuned by Buell to 95 BHP... Its one owner from new, with 8000 miles on it and its had an absolute fortune already spent on custom parts. Its lived all its life in a dehumidified cocoon!

Not sure what I am going to do with it yet...

I like the Buell saves the embarrassment of owning a Harley
