folks,
Was told today that there is no problem to use normal anti-freeze instead of 'specialised' coolant. Any thoughts?
Was planning to do this job last year but it got a bit delayed
Coolant vs Anti-Freeze
I have no idea hence the reason for asking!
My thought was that Anti-Freeze (as per the name) protects against cold.
Coolant (as per the name) cools/protects against heat...
Obviously this logic doesn't apply to anti-freeze / coolant?
If there are the same ... then why are they being sold as seperate products by the likes of Halfords...? Does not make sense to me.
Anyway, I take it that as you said they are the same thing.

All the same stuff mate,
It's just a mix of water and glycol (75%-25%), the ready mix stuff is just there for convenience so you don't have to tw@ about getting the mix right.
Got barrels of it at work for use in chilled water systems etc, very handy!!
