Engine bogs down

Post by bingo808 »

Hi
Well, I think I balanced the carbies. Not 100% confident.

Today I fired up the beast and it idled a bit low after about a minute. Tried to up the idle. All this does is push on the throttle plate, right?

New problem. After I adjusted the idle, the motor would bog down on opening the throttle. Like really bog down. Then I let the throttle go and it idles for a bit then conks out.

Is there a idle mixture screw for these motors? This "bogging down" happens after 1-2 minutes of running. Motor gets barely warm.
Someone put it together, so I should be able to pull it apart.

Got the petrol tap vac line on the sideways pointing spigot or straight down?
The straight down one is a drain, nothing should be connected there.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Funny you should mention that, I was thinking exactly the same thing,

Chris.

It wouldn't cause bogging down as it just wouldnt run after any fule in the carbs run out...

Probably after about one & a half Thumps...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Yes, I'm sure I have the vacuum line connected to the sideways spigot. All good there.

Have you tried opening the fuel cap to see if the issue goes away as it sounds like the tank vent is blocked.
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.

No, I haven't tried that. Thanks will do.
