crankcase explosion (solved)

Post by tastethefloor »

finally found where my crankcase had blown 2 times leaving me by the side of the road trying to put the valve seal lobes or half moons back into place, the stator was the problem, it probably ignite with a spark the oil fumes that lead to an explosion

  That'll be why I couldn't find it.

This link from the Superhawk mentions your exact problem by "kai ju" (10th post down) so I'm guessing this must be it :?:

You should be able to get it rewound easily enough.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Do let us know if you get anywhere with that

Like Tony said, you should be able to get it rewound if you so wish.

Any idea what caused the insulation to get damaged :?:

I think the insulating paint had came off from that portion of the stator due to the age of that, heat or milage of the bike > 50000km and 25 yrs
