Problem with old VTR 1000

Post by corygarvin »

Hello, I just received an old VTR 1000 Firestorm and now the tachometer is faulty and not working.

I did a preliminary check and found R1 on the circuit board had blown. I would like to ask from your experience if you know the cause of the problem and can you recommend me a reputable repair address? Thank.

I haven't come across a repairer for these but you should be able to find a secondhand set easily enough.

If you can read the resistor, you can simply solder one on as a bridge for the blown one. Of course, if the fault still exists, you might blow the replacement, too.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I have some used clock sets... Various miles on them so either complete swap or use for parts.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
