Re: Two things tire valve leaking clutch cover
Nope it needs a new valve, fitted from inside, depending on the life left in the tyre. It will have a date code on the sidewall anything older than 10 years it's only fit for the bin. TBH if the valve has failed the tyre will be the same age... Take the wheel to your local preferred tyre man, new tyre new valve...acthungbabyrc36 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 4:48 am Hi my written of Honda very

Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
Re: Two things tire valve leaking clutch cover
The damage to the clutch cover needs either replacing the cover, or taking it off and getting it welded up. It's not double skinned and it's also possible that some dirt got inside the engine when it went down, so oil and filter needs changing too,acthungbabyrc36 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 4:48 am Hi my written of Honda very

Re: Two things tire valve leaking clutch cover
Or you can simply Araldite that cover and buy a carbon cover to go over it, which hides the damage.
There are two options for the cover, one that actually offers so me protection to the engine if you drop the bike, for example Carbonadi in Germany, or flimsy thin covers which are just for show but don't offer any protection.
IIrc, there is a thin stamped aluminium plate that sits inside the cover, which has a seal to hold the oil in the engine in the event of a crack in the case outer. It's help on place by a single M6 bolt in the centre; you'll see it when you take the cover off.
You shouldn't simply slap Araldite on the outside, because, as Sirch said, there is likely to be debris inside.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Two things tire valve leaking clutch cover
Iirc that aluminium plate doesn't cover the area where the casing has been damaged, but it could be what 'acthungbabyrc36' thought was possibly a second skintony.mon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 2:12 pm Or you can simply Araldite that cover and buy a carbon cover to go over it, which hides the damage.

The Carbonadi cover that Tony mentions is what I have on my bike. See link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276685427959 ... R6DT1fniZA
The only way oil would come out of the casing crack would be with the bike over on it's side, or with the engine running, you can see in the photo how low down the oil is from that damaged area in the oil sight glass with the bike in a more upright position,
Chris.
