tachometer

I started working to my vtr, i replacing the tachometer, a common digital one, everything works but the RPM, i know is a problem with the voltage, maybe needs resistors, there's anyone able to help, please?

Here's the signals that you'll find on the VTR:

The second one is the tach signal. A positive 12V rectangular signal.
Disclaimer: this is from an Ignitech aftermarket unit. The stock one may have the same 12V or a 5V signal.
But any aftermarket tach should be able to swallow that.

i can't see the pictures ,website won't let me, can you attached them here, please? problem with my tacho is when connect the green/yellow wire the rpm goes high up to 12k and when accellerate even over, i think is avoltage problem, so i read need resistor, but i'm not an expert...what to do?
