Hugger

Post by ips »

I’m looking for a hugger, ideally one that stretches below the swinging arm to give the suspension linkage some protection.
The only one I can find that looks like it will do the job is from Pyramid Plastics.
I’ve never seen a Storm with one fitted.
Has any one got one fitted, does it do the job. Are there any other makes?

Cheers.

Hi Ips
I've got one, but it doesn't keep the linkage clean
it does however keep the crap off the rear shocker and engine

sorry but am i being daft, havent you got the preverbial crap flap?
no hugger just a little piece of plastic that covers all of the rear suspension etc from the ugly stuff that gets thrown from the rear end.
4 cyl = 2ltr , 2 cyl = 1ltr it's all relative.

I've got one!
It does a better job of protecting the linkage than not having one

Only have 2 criticisms

1) Coz it goes inside the swing arm it can foul your tyres (depending on gearing) I had a 2 teeth larger rear sprocket so the wheel was closer to the swinger than normal. 010's fitted fine but Rennsports and 208GPa's both fouled it

2) Doesn't really have a chain guard -you have to use the standard VTR one over the top

No, the crapflap(like that :P ) had to come off cause the hugger comes right down to meet the swingarm.
Ben right though, it does do a better job than the crapflap but the linkages are below the swing arm so there's nothing to stop the crap from off the road flying up and all over it.

Try NWS (01992 501285). I had one from them on my ZX6 and it extended below the swingarm. It was quite easy to fit and well made. I think they start around £75 - they also do a metallic silver effect which looks really good on silver bikes
.... no more bike, divorce sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about EBay? I got my carbon fibre one on Ebay and am very happy with it! I can check the name on it if you want... It has a flap that goes below the swing arm to stop sh*te going all over the place...

Thanks for all the feed back.
Ben, do you have to modify the chain guard or does it fit straight on.

Fits straight over the hugger with no midification
