New Storm owner in AU (not me!)

Post by bluesman »

Hey, my friend who got transferred to work in Australia made up his mind and got himself a Firestorm!

He went for few different models and makes, but then settled only for VTR. And here is what he got "sold" on - enjoy (translated, sorry if not very smooth). I think this very much summarises impressions on Storm from somebody who never tried it.

"Thank you for support with right choice. I'm just so impressed with how this bike "suites my soul". You may laugh, but for me it feels like mix between my previous inline-4 and my oldtimer bike I had. Storm is absolutely contemporary bike, but absolutely alive, like old good time's bikes still living in Storm! Of course I am juyst getting used to it, but already feel what you meant by "rear drive" (my remark: I been telling him about that torque thing that gives you oversteer feeling sometimes or even real oversteer, "rear drive" is just our slang) and easy handling. The only thing I do not like - soft front. I hope you can advice me on fixing that."

So you see - soul. I like what he said - that classic bikes living in Storm a bit

Now, my Australian colleagues - hope for your advice. Where my friend can go to get front suspension sorted, at least - springs and oil? What is available in Australia - Hyperpro? Wilbers? Other?
My friend somewhere in Sydney I think....but can ask him where exactly...

Good one, Blues. I like the translation! Sharpe1 is our token Sydney-sider, so I'm sure you'll be able to get some advice for you friend from him. Make sure you give him the web address for the Australian Firestorm forum too, so he can meet up with other like-minded soulful riders... http://www.ozfirestorm.com

I'm a bit further north (1000km), but am planning to head down there in a couple of months. There are a bunch of guys I go riding with in Sydney, so if your friend is interested in coming along, just pm me.
If you ate yourself would you become twice as big or simply disappear?

Hey brothers and sisters.. I am one of the mods on the Ozfirestorm site, and we would be more than happy to help your mate out. If he lets us know roughly where he is at then we will point him in the right direction, its the least we can do :)
