monkey business

Post by emperor »

Ello Peeps :) just got my storm back on the road, whoooo!! after my front cct decided to call it a day booooooooo! ive got some new orange dot honda cct's in at the mo, but, there is no way im gonna just gonna wait for them to go again, so im considering all my options

1.sell the storm (not an option really!)
2.Get some manual cct's and learn how to check them myself and do it every XXXXmiles

as option 1 aint gonna happen, could anyone that has got APE's or any other make installed tell me if they have had any problems with them failing etc... ?? apart from being arsed to check the tention all the time. I dont mind getting my hands dirty once in a while for peace of mind, but, at the same time i dont want to be opening up a shed full of more problems by not using honda parts

I Had the APE tensioners and Max has them.
Personally I can't fault them. Easy to install and other than a little drip of oil working its way past the nut on the rear one no trouble at all. (If I install another pair I would recomend putting a bit of gasket sealer around the locking nut on instalation).
Adustment takes less than ten minutes and only needs doing after several thousand miles.
