passenger footpegs/brackets

Post by mik_str »

Hello,

I just finished re-mounting my Microns to a higher position using some brackets that were supplied when I bought them (had them mounted in the standard or OEM position last year). The problem is that now there is a clearance issue with my passenger pegs (the actual problem area is the lowermost portion of the bracket where the pipe usually mounts). I may look at spacing the passenger peg brackets outwards to clear the pipes but was wondering about the possibility of using other (read shorter) passenger peg brackets instead. I just checked the http://www.hlsm.com site and noticed that the CBR900RR and 954 both use the same size bolt to mount their brackets (and their brackets seem shorter overall which would work just fine for what I need). Does anyone know if the bolt spacing is the same (which would allow me to use a set of these brackets instead as they seem much shorter). I seem to recall someone mentioning that the used GSX-R passenger bracket/pegs on the VTR but cannot locate the original thread. Any help or advice would be welcome. 

thanks in advance

I am sure I have read on here that the rear foot pegs have to be spaced.

yep fireman they definatly do, just put some high level remus on mine.
46 mm and 56mm spacers needed for good clearance on remus so something must be off set.
i did hear that you could cheat and use some old long reach sockets for a cheap alternative.
4 cyl = 2ltr , 2 cyl = 1ltr it's all relative.

the left hand pipe ( sitting on bike ) is slightlymore ofset compaired to right pipe due to where the chain runs
