Anyone using an ignition advancer?

Greetings from across the Pond fellow VTR'ers

I was wondering who among you was using some type of ignition advancer on your VTR's? I have scanned around looking for info (Micapeak,...) and it seems that quite a few people are using them (mostly the Factory Pro +4 degrees unit) but I have read few comments that relate directly to its effect.

If you are using one, which type? What has been your experience with it? Pros and cons?

I am currently running a DJ kit and Microns and was contemplating getting one of the Factory advancers.

I've done it.
Used the Factory one. Dynoed it afterwards and.......
Not a lot of difference 1-2 HP across the range. I haven't suffered from engine Knock and cheep fuel still runs ok in it, so I wouldn't think you have to worry about damaging the engine.

I could of told you i was using the ignition advancer but i was pipped at the end of auction on ebay a 4 degree factory advancer sold for 10.50

Pick up is definitely improved. The engine feels a little more eager and Revs a little free er at the top end too. I was just surprised at the lack of difference when it came off the Dyno
