paranoid about noises

ive seen all the posts here about CCT's and the problems they cause.

have picked my bike up from a reputable dealer.

It rides really well - sounds great.

There's a faint rattling noise and I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. THe rattling noise only happens when the bike is in gear and accelerating. There's no rattling on the overrun or if i rev it in neutral.

Any ideas? Just need some ideas cos I fancy taking the bike out over the weekend and dont want it in the garage for the easter bank holiday.

When CCT's are starting to make noises happen, they are usually only noticeable as a slapping sound on the changing down/slowing down, as when approaching a tee junction etc, not when accelerating hard

If you're worried about it get your local garage mechanic to have a listen

If you're not use to a big engine with two big carbs it could just be the resonance from the air filter as the carbs suck in large amounts of air

i know i sound like a mong but.....

i'm mechanically inept. i know how to lube the chain and check oil etc but fixing things just aint my thing.

i don't think the garage would rip me off because they've been really good to me. oN the other hand, i'm no good at deciding what noises are "ok" and which ones sound expensive.

I am chuffed to bits with the bike. HUUUGE step up from a gpz in terms of power and cool factor !

Loads of people look.... i think its the growl it makes.

craig boyo.. i came offa zed 750. onto the storm. and was paranoid as hell about the noises it made when i first got it...what i thought to be the dreaded rattle of the cct ..was in fact the clutch. at tickover..the noise went when the clutch was in ..and the whine it makes is also normal .. now i reckon i know what she should sound like. when she's running sweet. so anything out of place should sound like a tortured baby to my attuned ear....
