Hi Guys,
Im nearing completion on my bike! However on removal of my left hand fairing ive noticed two of the lugs have snapped. There are several cracks from the drop and one really nasty split where i had a squiffy vs pigeon match.
Im sure pannels can be mended but is there a point where it becomes impossible?
I'll try and post some photos this afternoon!

Good plastic welders can do amazing things... I'd find one near you and ask them, they'll be honest about what can and can't be done, though from the sounds of it, it should be fine. As the welded bits are stronger than they used to be, load bearing lugs and stuff should be fine.
But I'm not a plastic welder...

Toby if your good with a soldering iron and on a budget and the cracks are in a place where not really visible you can always melt a small piece of plastic coathanger on the inside of the fairing this will stop it spreading anyfurther then apply some plastic padding on the outside rub down with wet and dry ready for spraying.
The black mudgaurd on my bike was shattered i had it given to me by Lloyd at ebley honda,i did the above and is perfect i can show you some close up pics if you want.

O yes please that would be great, i can use a soldering iron and work with plastic (i sell enough of it, lol) so it i can sort it myself i would be mucho chuffoed!
Sidenote- taking off the left hand fairing, do you have to remove the centre pannel first or is that last screw totally a mission to get to?
Sidenote 2- WHAT WERE HONDA THINKING when invented those stupid plastic plug screw things that go in the bottom....?
i'll post pics when i get the engery to get off the sofa and walk out to the office for my cam...laxy mood today!

Toby here is the pic of the repair before i sprayed it you can see where the 2 big cracks was now filled and rubbed down i will take some of the underside if you want when i get chance but all it is is a matter of heating the plastics with the iron and dabbing it onto the fairing to make it stronger
just make sure before you join it back that the crack is as joined and smooth together as you can if you know what i mean
