Wheel Rim Paint
Wheel Rim Paint
I have some chips - its the Honda metallic grey/black standard paint - where can I get some from please?
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Re: Wheel Rim Paint
If you want a different look polish the rim edge its not that difficult to do, though you would have to take the tyres off.Stratman wrote:I have some chips - its the Honda metallic grey/black standard paint - where can I get some from please?
I did my wheels myself. My fireblade wheel came in black which was chipped , i masked the centre/spokes off then nitro morsed the edges and very fine wire wool only took about half an hour to strip, then repainted the centre/spokes with some gloss black paint i had ( for ovens/exhuasts heat proof). I hav'nt polished them to a high polish just back to bare alu and a quick buff with metal polish (Duzits).
Same with my vfr wheel but stripped everything on that back to alu then polish with (Duzits)
heres the blade wheel before and after

ps if thers any that bleeds take the wire wool and rub away.
But if it seems too much to do you can always contact RS Paints in Barnsley (not far from me either) as my local Honda dealer use them all the time.
I'm sure someone on here had some colour match made up from them the other day. I think it was LSM.

Thanks Chris its well worth the effort doing it yourself and a hell of alot cheaper. When i was getting some of my parts powder coated i ask the guy how much it would be for the wheels doing like i have done them, he quoted me 15 pound per side plus you have to take the bearings out for the oven and getting them back in without blagging your paint is tricky with out a press. I spent 2/3 quid for wire wool,5iver for paint and 8 quid for nitro morse.
I did try Wickes DIY paint stripper that i had in the garage already but it wouldnt touch it ,nitro morse will strip the butt of a rhino!!!!!
