Does anyone else have this vacuum pipe fitted already?

Post by LotusSevenMan »

I'm talking about the one from the front cylinder carb take-off point.
The Haynes VTR book (section 1-13 pic 12.3c) shows a blanking plug that has to be removed, an adaptor fitted etc etc.

My '99 VTR appears to have a factory fitted pipe and blank already (see pic) as those circular pipe end retaining rings look a bit too factory issue to be anything else but original.

How about yours?

You are a lucky one. That end bit comes off a hornet and makes carb balancing a lot easier. Do you also have the t-piece on the rear cylinder?

The mod is easy to do and saves about half an hour each time!

So, it is factory, just not destined for that model!

Cheers Grinner.
The power of this site eh?
No, no 'T' piece at the moment but am working on it!

How come Honda fit it to the Hornet and not 'our' machines then I wonder? Cost cutting again?
