I'm talking about the one from the front cylinder carb take-off point.
The Haynes VTR book (section 1-13 pic 12.3c) shows a blanking plug that has to be removed, an adaptor fitted etc etc.
My '99 VTR appears to have a factory fitted pipe and blank already (see pic) as those circular pipe end retaining rings look a bit too factory issue to be anything else but original.
How about yours?

nope,not got one of them,my 97 has the blanking bolt in & my 98 has a brass adaptor with the scotoiler plugged on it.

Nope, definitely not factory fitment.
My guess is the previous owner was a bit of a stickler for maintenance -you lucky bugger

You are a lucky one. That end bit comes off a hornet and makes carb balancing a lot easier. Do you also have the t-piece on the rear cylinder?
The mod is easy to do and saves about half an hour each time!
So, it is factory, just not destined for that model!
