Yeah, I know you people will be biased, but I have been looking for a way to move to Scotland (specifically Glasgow or Paisley) for quite some time. What are your thoughts?

Rowingdude,

Consider the following:

Cripling taxation
Failing health service
Failing education system
Crime rocketting
Political Correctness rules everything
Police only interested in being Politically Correct and hounding motorists
Cossetted criminals; victims ignored or prosecuted for protecting themselves and their property.
A corrupt government, intent on imposing their own brand of social engineering and feathering their own nests.
An Opposition Party, which is a inept as the government.
Immigration out of control.

I could go on............

But if you're happy with that then come on over. The weathers great!

what brings you to our fair shores?
i'm from paisley. just moved up to aberdeen earlier this year. you are close to some of the best roads in the uk for going out on with a bike...the west coast has been known to be a bit on the wet side though...lol. glasgow has the reputation for damp weather, but its not all that bad, just rains about half the year. . as far as housing goes, its the same all over, good and bad areas are mixed in together, house prices are on the rise in these areas but not as high as some other parts of the uk.

Look at it this way.

We have taxation, high fuel prices, crap NHS, crap pensions, pollution, crime, drugs, teenage pregnancy, a labour government, crap education system.

America has George W Bush!!

well my wife is a texan and she is a nurse in a small town hospital and good nurses are had to find and i have had some elderly patients say to me plz dont steal her away and i promised a person who died 2 weeks later not to steal her, she makes a difference in her commuinity there, also i have made a lot off good friends that counters 1 mr bush also its cheaper in the long run to move than it is to keep flying its 16 hours from start to finish

well, I was looking at it because we have a bit of heritage and I wanted to live around the world. The ability to take weekend trips to the mainland (Europe) would have been another selling point. Specifically though, I wanted to live in Scotland/UK because (a) My French sucks and (b) I do not know either Norwegian or Swedish.
