Frame adjuster

Post by beesfan »

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm monuting a vtr engine and i'm having a little problem with one of the spacers. Would somebody be able to tell me what tool i need to adjust the frame so that the spacer will fit? From what i can see it's the frame that needs to be adjusted because i can see some sort of thread. I've attached a picture so you can see the bit i mean. The top of it looks a bit like a castle.... I know i know, it's the only way i can describe it.

If somebody could give me some pointers i can go out and buy the tool.

Cheers.

I never thought about that. I'll give it a go. :D

I don't suppose you have any tips on making a fork seal driver? :D

Depending on what diameter fork legs you have, try your local friendly plumbers merchant
Might have some pipe with the right internal diameter
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

I got a mate to give me a piece of mild steel tube with the right internal diameter. It was a bit tight so I cut it down both sides with an angle grinder and prised it open a bit. Then it worked, but need to be careful not to scratch the fork leg of course (plenty of lubrication helps)
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
