well do the police ever think that they are loosing touch with the people they are ment to be protecting ? with asbo's and community policing (plastic police) and all there very helpful crap being thrown at us also protecting the poor defenceless criminal, well if your a shop lifter and get caught you get an £80 on the spot fine and a slap on the wrist, but if your caught speeding then you get hit alot worse and can go to prison or loose you licence, well now we can get asbo's to, that will make the misrable old bag at the top of my road happy, she does nothing but complain to the plastic police ''shes the head of the local nosey neighbours'' (neighbourhood watch) well she complained to them about my exhaust on my b6 which was road legal and they payed me a visit and they looked at my bike and tried to tell me to push my bike up the road which slopes to avoid waking her up, i explained to them that i have shattered one ankle and i cant push such a heavy weight up the road and all the said was they will be contacting the noise people at the council so i informed them of the noise abaitment law ie noise abaitment finishes at 0700 and iam going to work at 0730 and my bike is road legal as the could see and basiclly told them to sod off i had already been in contact with the noise abaitment team in the local council after the neighbour threatened to contact them and so funny they have never been back since, why cant they go and try to make the world a better place rather than keep going for easy results well its to much hard work to try catch all the perps involved in all the stabbings and murders here in the northeast in it ploddy's
this is worth a read

Sorry Al, but you'll have to elaborate on that one, can't say I'm familiar with that terminology...
If it makes you folks feel any better, they are no better on this side of The Pond. I have learned to keep a dozen donuts on me at all times, some emergency bribing material

Sad fact is I was speaking to one of our customers who's a legal aid lawyer and was complaining he's not very busy
The reason why?
Cr@ppy govt performance targets
The police and CPS have 2 options when they arrest someone for a crime
1. Do lots of paperwork, go to court and hope to hell the little sh1t doesn't get off on a technicality, human rights issue, thick magistrate etc etc
2. Offer them an official caution
Option 2 counts as a 100% solved crime so their stats look good
If you were in their situation, what would you do?
You want to take option 1. but then your figures might not meet targets and you're in the doo-doo
But option 2. is a safe bet and you meet your targets
Its a ridiculous way to try and run the law and makes me want to go and set fire to everybody in government and start again
Who's with me?

I'm with you Ben.
This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-Ã -vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Unfortunately unless people stand up to the powers that be in Parliment then the people will end up with the police service they deserve.
Speed cameras are another perfect example of policing on the cheap... then there CPSO's (sorry community policing support officers).
The problem is that the poor cops & C3PO's now have to deal with every complaint made 'ethically' what ever the fook that means. They get audited injust about everythng they do and have almost lost the old discretion they used to have.
You don't even want to get me started on the number of obvious & decent cases the CPS throw out before even getting to court for fear of losing and thus effecting their figures. It's no wonder the police issue so many cautions & £80 on the spot fines to keep their detection levels somewhere where the govn. expectes them to be.
No prizes for guessing my day job!
