Filter, Cans and Dynojet - power?
Filter, Cans and Dynojet - power?
Just wanted to know what sort of power you guys are getting out of some race cans, a filter (pref K+N) and a dynojet kit with proper setup. Any body got this as well as a factory ignition advancer and a 15t front sprocket. I have this on order and was wondering what I can expect?
Cheers.
Cheers.

Where did you get the superchip ignition advancer from? How much?
As for the TL. Well the cans, k+N and dynojet kit I am getting for £225, I have a blade front end/WP Shock and steering dampers are for girls!
I do like the TL but for me the VTR is a far better all round bike and with a few mods to the suspension it has the handling to match, exceed the TL. Good wheelie bike though!

Power
Hi
Got a set of high level Pro Series II ART cans and a K&N. Dyno got 108 bhp at the rear wheels. Nothing else done to the bike. The Dyno showed the power curve to be a bit fluffy at the bottom end, once above 5K though sings like a bitch ! Dyno man suggested that Firestorms don't like K&N filter and that the standard filter is know to perform better, interesting that.
Cheers

cans filters dyno
My storm kicks out 110.1 at the rear wheel and has 71.9 lbs of torque running with blue flame hi level and dyno and K&N filter Thats not the best bit the best bit is how much smoother it is now from low down and how much more mid range power i now have. Thottle response is also inproved.

110 bhp at the wheel
and on its day, with a following wind, and if I get the power on early enough will out drag an R1 out of a bend, seriously, I've done it several times, (waits for all the R1 owners to say baldrocks, but I dont care)
perfect curve on dyno graph, (no lumps or dips)
K&N
Dynojet
Remus High level race
43 tooth rear

Sex is like air. It only becomes really important when you aren't getting any.
Yosh full system, Dynojet Stage 1 Kit, K&N filter, HRC ignition module and 108.4 HP actual at the rear tire.
All that at 5870 ft above sealevel (altitude where the dyno is)!!!!!!
Next mod is Moriwaki stage 1 Cams and high compression pistons - supposedly worth another 10 to 12 ponies!

There is no replacement for displacement.

Haven't come across anything that can pull me out of the bends, even on the track against race/track-bikes - normally R1s and GXSRs ! I recon it must be the oodles of torque... and he only thing I have on my Stormie are a set of Micron race cans that sound heavenly!
I experienced the same thing with my previous Stormie that was as standard as they get - and that was at 5500 ft above sea level. My friends on new Blades could never believe how I could stay with them and keep going over 220kph (when the 600 start lagging behind!).
Re-gearing my bike soon - can't wait to feel my eye-balls at the back of my scull!

Come on smoking tell me more about different size sprockets. What do they actually do? Front, rear which is best to change?smokin joes wrote:110 bhp at the wheel
