Them RSVR's are drawing my eye too.

As is that new 1125R Buell.

Sticking with the Storm for the next few years at least.

Hi Mike,

Do you get cheaper insurance?

I'd say maybe 50% off your premium?

Like Ducati...

Ride 'em one weekend, fix 'em the next .. Ride 'em, Fix 'em .....

Insurers should know this and give an automatic reduction.

Very nice while they're running like Ducati's - just got to enjoy it while it lasts! IMO of course.

I'd Love a Ducati, especially a 748 but I know too many people that have gone for Ducs and Milles (standard & RSVR) and not be happy with them - mainly running costs (Ducati) - Price new clutch up! and reliability - Both Ducatis and Milles.

One of the guys at work (ex bike mechanic) has had Storms, SP1/2, Mille's RSV & RSVR and firmly believes that they each have their good and bad points, but that the Storm is by far the best all round riding experience.

Having said that, he's just chopped in his year old KTM 660 for the new BMW K1200S !!
(A big suprise for me cos his likes and dislikes are very similar to mine, HD - never! BMW - when we're too old to ride a proper bike and smell of lavender and stale wee!)

He reckons it's the best handling bike he's EVER ridden - bar none, so sure footed it's unreal - front end firmly planted (that wierd wishbone affair).

Another mate has an RSVR at moment and a 998 but won't be going to Manx on either cos he don't trust them to get there, do a few days riding and get him back.

If you know that you're buying 'potential' reliability problems and can live with it then that's fine.

I will own a Ducati at some point - but it will never be my main bike.

Hey - I even want an old Brit or two, now there really is reliability problems - but I know they're there and am prepared to tinker, take apart, replace, repair & re-build - that will be part of my enjoyment.

I'm sure you've thought about it and are aware of the potential probs.

Whatever you get I hope you'll be happy with it.

Graeme

I say go for it Mike Mille's are a bargain at the minute for what you get just look at the extra's .Ive heard good and bad about them but hell isnt that the same with every bike ok the upkeep might be more expensive but you only live once

I was very close to getting rid of my storm 18 months ago then i started my conversion and for what i paid sometimes i think i should of got the Mille or the Duke.

I've had 2 rsvs and a falco. Only problem I had on my 52 mille was warped brake discs fairly regularly. The factory was a fine bike. To me, the design and quality was well above any ducati and on par with japs. Did a lot of miles on the milles too! Better than the falco for comfort strangely.
