smoooooth...

Post by dblanky »

Hey all,

I have had my bike since march now, but recently it doesnt seem to be pulling as smoothly from lower revs as I'd hoped for, I dont know whether its just me noticing new things about it or whether it is actually getting worse!

anything below 4.5k rpm it just seems really sluggish and lumpy (lumpier than usual!).I have balanced the carbs that seemed to help a bit but not cured the problem completly.

I was wondering whether there is anything else I could try? It would be nice if from 3k I could give the throttle some abuse and have it not hesitate and yank my arms out of the socket instead :P !!

Cheers all!

Have you checked the condition of your air filter? One thing I would recommend if you like bottom-end response is to replace the short intake runner/trumpet on the front cylinder with a longer as used on the rear cylinder. This will generate a noticeable improvement in bottom-end power and throttle response.

cheers

does it make that much of a difference then changing the intake trumpet?

Im all for bottom end response, living out in the middle of wales, its just hill after hill and you'd be lucky(insane) to be doing much more than 110-120mph around here!! That n the police arent very biker friendly...

Fitted a new air filter bout 2 or 3 weeks ago but ill check it again!

Do you think the carbs could do with cleanin perhaps?
