Re: Yokes and triples question.
Yeah sorry mate I missed your reply. I found the two I made and I haven't put the slits in across the fork bores yet. Will get them finished when I can jump onto a CNC mill at work! As they stand now: http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f277/Spikenipple/IMG_1440_zps34c1338b.jpg Render of the parts, bl...

Re: Yokes and triples question.
I have an SP-1 front end on my 'storm, and I made some fancy pants top yokes to fit, a couple of years back. Do you want one?
I never took the entire front end off so didn't get the bottom yoke measurements![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: MOT advisories
Get an inner tube, cut it into strips and put those inbetween the cush drive rubbers.
Check that the spindle nut is done up to the correct torque too, if so and the cush drive fix doesn't take up the perceived slack in the wheel bearings, get some new bearings fitted.

Give the hinge pins a good clean and a dab of grease before putting the new levers on ![Thumbup ](./images/smilies/icon_thumbup.gif)

Re: How much is it worth?
FWIW I've sorted the charging problem now. I thought it was a fried reg/rec but it was a bad crimp on the -ve wire going to the reg/rec.
Also the mileage is 45493, not 47k.

Re: How much is it worth?
American car discussions aside, thanks everyone for your input. I'll have a think about what I want to do with it. I've got a mate with £900 in his hand waiting to buy it as it is, but I'll be really sad to see it go :( Also, I did a trackday at Castle Combe last wednesday and it's got me thinking a...

How much is it worth?
Hi guys and girls, I'm looking to sell my 2000 Firestorm with a few goodies on it. At the moment the charging system is shagged and I haven't gotten around to sorting it out yet. The bike has 47k miles on the clock, and MOT until mid-March next year. Goodies: Honda SP-1 front end Goodridge braided h...

Re: Crank balancing specs anyone (urgent)
Not true at all. If you change the rod/pin/piston for anything of a different weight it should be balanced each time. Proper balancing will greatly reduce wear on crank bearings.Stephan wrote:Just leave it. New balancing would be probably worse than factory one, even if you have lighter rods. Engine will last.

Yep +1 for the MT-09. I bought one in April, and it's an absolute peach. Definitely needs the suspension sorting but otherwise it's lovely!

Yeah if you can get the long bolts off.....they were far beyond freeing up on my original motor.
