Actually it was only offered for one year, 1999.agentpineapple wrote:I might be wrong, but didn't they only offer orange paint for a couple of years, it wasn't that popular, hence there aren't many out there, when clean and shiny orange looks fantastic, if dull and unloved it can look pretty bad.

Re: Impressive stuff
I've used Slime on my scooter years ago. It's pretty amazing, but won't make the tyre completely air proof. Actually the green goo keeps coming out of the puncture hole and makes a bloody mess. It's a bitch to clean up. I'm pretty sure that the guy who installs your tires won't be happy either... :l...

Re: slight tapping
If the valve clearances become too tight I believe it should make the engine quieter, not noisier. The manual CCT may need adjustment from time to time. Also, I've noticed, if the weather is very cold, it may take quite a long time for the engine to warm up enough so cam chain stops rattling complet...

Re: Cleaning tools, tips and products.
Hey Chric, just wondered if you can recommend some kind of cutting compound or something effective. I have some cracks/hazing on the paint on my petrol tank, I've tried some stuff (the name escapes my memory) with a mechanical mop but hasn't touched it! I thought it would be nice to tart the bodywo...

Re: Timing problem?
Nah, I'm not really worried.. Just curious about why the front chain would stretch more, after all, the load on the chain should be equal on both chains? Ahh right, sorry just trying to put your mind at ease  I'd be interested to hear anyone's theory on the front chain wearing quicker too ...

Re: Timing problem?
 Hmm.. Shouldn't the front and rear cam chain wear at the same rate? At least for me, the rear cylinder timing was pretty much perfect. IF there was a front CCT failure, could this stretch the chain and cause the timing to "stretch" a bit? My front cam chain is more stretched than ...

Re: Timing problem?
I noticed the exact same problem couple years ago when I installed my manual CCT:s and adjusted the valve clearances. When the flywheel marking was spot on, cams were about half a tooth off. Here is a discussion on the same matter: http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=31293 So basi...

Re: Pilot Screw Adjustment.
Argh I see it's page 5-18 in wicky's OCR's version of the manual but in the Original one I got it's page 5-21. Interestingly they are slightly different. The procedure is the same but the tool numbers are slightly different and mine says USA only. My version http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476...

Re: Steeper Exhaust angle bracket
I have a pair of those brackets, covered in dust unfortunately. My Yoshimuras have welded linkpipes and I just couldn't line up the right-side exhaust correctly. If the linkpipes were connected with springs or clamps, it would allow me to twist the right-side muffler into correct position.

Victim of PVLIR? Have you checked that the vacuum hose from front cylinder is attached to the correct nipple in the fuel petcock?
