Re: Ebay Finds (unusal/cheap/rare/or just good value)
Just thought I'd post on here because the Ohlins shock for sale on ebay at the moment is mine and I noticed there'd been a few comments about it. I'm not really a regular forum user, I only joined a few months ago when I decided to sell my bike and wanted to get some advice about the best way to go ...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Yes, it's pretty ruddy annoying. It had been stood up again by some helpful passer by which was nice of them but I suspect they may have caused a bit of the damage getting it back up. I imagine it's not a light bike to pick up off its side. It was parked up next to a big steel bike rack which I thin...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
I gave it a quick wipe down and took some photos earlier. Didn't give it the most thorough clean so apologies for what's probably the dirtiest bike ever to grace this forum. http://s268.photobucket.com/albums/jj4/jacko791/VTR1000%20Firestorm/ http://s268.photobucket.com/albums/jj4/jacko791/VTR1000%2...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
It's really not a trick looking bike. Fairly good handling wise with the shock upgrade and wheels plus braided hoses and fireblade master cylinder but nothing done styling wise and not been cleaned every ride. I'll get some photos taken tomorrow though and stick them on here. I'm in Newcatle which m...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Thanks again everyone for info. From what has been said I think it may be too much work for me to strip the whole thing as my schedule is pretty busy for the next couple of months. Currently I'm thinking about removing the trick bits and replacing with stock stuff to raise a bit of cash and then mig...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Sorry, made my last post before seeing Jonesy's reply. Thanks for filling me in, as I said though I can understand people not trusting a new poster. If I do decide to sell I might just put it all on ebay anyway but thought this would be the best place to get an idea of prices. Thanks for everyone's ...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Geeez, you guys are pretty suspicious on here! Understandable though if you had scammers on here in the past. If I decide to split the bike then I'll be happy for anyone to come round and take a look, don't want to waste anyone's time when I haven't actually decided what to do yet though. To make a ...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
I'm in Newcastle, probably not worth someone coming to have a look though. I know which bits are damaged so have assumed I won't get anything for them. Was really just after rough idea of prices for the stuff I'd be selling and an idea of how long it would take to break. Reckon it's a job I could ge...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Any skepticism completely understood. Would have preferred to have post in the for sale section as I know some forums don't like it when you post "possible for sale" threads in the main forums. Understand why new users can't post in the for sale section though. Is there a way to search spe...

Re: Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Thanks for the quick reply. It's only done 22k so the engine and most parts should bring decent prices. Looking at the prices on the link though and adding it up it's probably not be worth the effort as I don't have loads of spare time.

Is breaking a bike worth the effort?
Hi, new to the forum. I'm interested to get anyone's experience of breaking their Firestorm. I have a '97 model in generally good condition which I was planning to sell soon as I need the money. Unfortunately it was blown over in the high winds a few days ago causing damage to most of the panels plu...
