Re: Bought my first 'storm
Usual things really but these engines are very strong, take a look at the oil colour and rub it between your fingers. That will tell you firstly does it have clean oil suggesting it's been maintained but also look for metal in it to see if there is anything going wrong. Listen for rattles or knockin...

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.
I would try not to beat yourself up, put it down to experience and make the best of the situation. Get it sorted and take the opportunity to get the bike improved and then keep it, in a years time it will be a memory and you will have a well sorted bike.
Re: cct help

Re: Do we really need big bikes?
Oh the C90, what a bike! I had a C70, not quite as quick but it used to go on and on and it got abused all the time, again perfect for round town stuff. Yes as Geodude says it's horses for courses but my point is just that sometimes it's about fun not big cc's and massive power. Riding a bike / scoo...

Re: Do we really need big bikes?
Done Stoke to Skegness and back on a FS1E does that count? When I was 16 :D Of course big bikes are best for long trips but for nipping about, as in trips of a few miles here and there around town the scooter has been great fun so far, I am not suggesting touring Europe on it but for just looning ar...

Re: Do we really need big bikes?
The thing is its all too easy to think you need bigger, faster, more powerful bikes but I have had a bit of an eye opener riding this. I enjoy riding super motards so maybe this is the same for me, It is just so much fun when you have to ride it for ridings sake rather than riding on the power of it...

Do we really need big bikes?
For the last week I have been riding an Aprilia SR125 Motard, it's a larger than normal wheeled 4 stroke 125cc scooter. I am loving it and feel myself preferring it to my storm 8O It is lightweight, easy to manouver, nippy, gives leg protection against wind and rain, easy to ride being an auto and j...

Re: dirty hands
I always have a couple of boxes of Nitrile gloves open at home in the garage and at work, I find they are tough and thin enough to feel most things and keep my hands nice
I used to get dermatitis bad from oil and petrol so wear gloves now.

Re: Why do you own a firestorm...
No its not the most comfortable bike I have owned, gixxers as in gsxr 750's suit my frame or nakeds/supermotos. Its engine and reliability why I bought my storm.

Re: Why do you own a firestorm...
Had a lot of inline 4's and supermotos, I had an Aprilia RSVR a few years ago and liked the grunt low down of the big v twin so fancied another and like Hondas so started looking for a mint one about two years ago then a year later I bought mine with only 1800 miles on it. I do love it but would lik...

Marvellous, that looks a really nice bike you have there. Plenty of power, about 165 BHP aren't they?
Have fun![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Not wanting to pour cold water on it but it seems a bit odd. Its a long way to go to be dissapointed which may push you into buying it anyway. Its a pity EMS let you down.
