Re: Chain and Sprocket Swap

Cheers Guys for a brilliant "How to". This should save me a lot of time, especially in preventing the Clutch Bleeding process.

Re: Chain and Sprockets for 1999 VTR

I went for X Ring chain and standard gearing.

Maybe next year but the aim is to get her on the road as soon as possible and with the MOT due I was not looking for complications.

This is only the first year of ownership and I thought I'd get to know her first.

Re: Chain and Sprockets for 1999 VTR

Hi Chain and sprockets sorted. Thinking about the scottoiler. Does it really make a difference on sealed chains Wicky? Depends if you believe all the Sales Blurb James. There's meant to be less power loss and "squishability" than "o" rings. Has anyone noticed the difference? Steve.

Chain and Sprockets for 1999 VTR

Hi All.

I need a new drive chain and sprockets as I have just noticed the adjusters are at Full Adjustment  . Can anyone recommend any Chain/Sprocket sets that outperform/Stand out as being better than the rest?

Also the gear ratios to go for.

Nice day so just had a look ..Steve.

Re: Hi, new to vtr's

Hi Matty and welcome from me too. I'm in the same position as you, being new to VTR's. I need a new drive chain and sprockets as I have just noticed the adjusters are at Full Adjustment. I have a couple of manual cct's to replace the old ones for. Nice day so just had a look at what needs doing :-) ...

Re: A very short intro from me.

Cheers Guys and thanks for the warm welcome..
When I bought the bike it mentioned the regulator had been modded.
That might be one of today's jobs to check.
