What do these do and where to they go
Yes I know "take lots of photos when you first strip the bike". Well I did. How was I to know the bloody camera was going to auto destroy the card? It did and I have no pictures to refer to. Anyhow I'm getting it sorted but for the life of me I can't work out what these little brackets do ...

Tapered roller headrace fitting query
I am fitting new all balls taper bearings in the headrace. Has anyone any tips on how tight the stem nut should be?
As it's not the type I can put a torque wrench on I have a couple of "C" spanners to hand.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I haven't done anything on it cos it's in bits. I haven't done anything to it cos it's too blooming cold in the garage. But I did unwrap these bits supplied by David Silver. Re: LED replacement headlight
I am not an any way electrically knowledgeable. but years of fiddling around lead me to believe the biggest problem with various headlights is the reflector/ lens arrangement. I once had a Honda XBR500 and the headlight was awful. The light was scattered and spread too thin. I modified the bulb moun...

Re: Crash protectors
Crash Protectors Maybe not. They'll help if the bike falls over But if the bike goes down at anything over 20mph then the first thing to get ripped off is the crash bungs. This is the result of getting nudged off at 55mph across the road, up the curb and onto the grass verge. Yeah brand new that mor...

Re: Hi-Vis discussion
So there I am, on my brand new that morning GSR750, with a white crash helmet, brand new Hi-vi striped jacket, on a white bike and always on headlight. At 60 mph I overtook a car when it lurched sideways (she later told police that it was to miss a pheasant) and swiped me off into the opposite gutte...

Re: rusty little bits
the roller bearings have seals in there outer edges so in theory grease wont be able to enter even with a nipple fitted. a yearly strip and check job I think.it also gives you a chance to visualy check the bearings. I fitted a grease nipples ...... The bearings I got recently have one end open. I f...
