Maybe they will be fine. OEM parts is all I would consider, especially given the price, for engine related parts.
You most certainly don't want to shear the studs.

Thanks for the kind wishes. I just realized that when I joined the forum I forgot about the difference in the date format. So the month and day were reversed. Duh. I have been looking at Bluetooth ear buds also. What has kept me from purchasing a set, besides not knowing the price/quality ratio, is ambient noise reduction, or the lack of. I use ear plugs and when I have experimented with wired buds, the noise level was, for me, too much. Seems counter intuitiv...

A cooked battery usually means the RR is bad. You may have other issues though and as tonymon suggested swap out the ICU. Hope you don't have the HISS system on your bike. I'm thinking you do as that would explain the hissing.
