You're not kidding - it actually sounds like a V-Twin SHOULD sound....not like the sewing machine it did before!!
It also goes so much better too - pulls better in every gear! Very pleased!

Re: Ted's 'storm resto
I've been a bit quiet on here I notice, but have done some bits to the 'storm...blackbird sidestand mod, new braided clutch line, and yesterday I randomly decided that I should do the baffle-ectomy as funds don't currently stretch to new zorsts!! http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad21/Ted-1977/Mobi...

Re: Ted's 'storm resto
Ist proper ride out since she passed on Weds...running great, just seems to have a 'flat spot' @ 5000rpm in 6th gear....gets bogged down and wont power through properly - carbs were off and stripped/cleaned, and she's fine in every other gear up to, and past 5000rpm...any ideas? She was smelling rat...

Re: Ted's 'storm resto
Just thought you'd all like to know, the bike passed MOT on Weds!! All it needed was the headlamp aim adjusting, and there was an advisory given on 'play in lower shock mount' - which the tester said you won't even notice when the weight of the bike is weighing down on it!! Happy Ted here!!

Re: Which chain & sprockets do you use, and why...
So is there much different between AFAM and Tsubaki, or is an X-ring chain, an X-ring chain!?!

Which chain & sprockets do you use, and why...
I have to make a decision about which C&S's to put on the 'storm, and I can't decide on which manufacturer to use....AFAM or Tsubaki for the chain, and OE sprockets, or renthal ones.
Which do you all use, and what would you recommend?

I think you should return the note, with a mark '2/10 - see me' for the spelling mistakes/use of capital letters mid/end of word! (I realise you are American, so you guys modify some of the English Language with 'Americanism's' ) - but could be worth a laugh!! http://i918.photobucket.co...

Re: Opinions on Rear Wheel Hugger
Mine has one on too - stops all the road crud being flung over the rear shock and up under the bike. A definite YES from me to get one....would have bought one if the bike didn't have one fitted Here's mine: http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad21/Ted-1977/Honda%20Firestorm/AEB6F64D-8C20-4861-B0A8-3...

Mmmm...VERY tempted to get these!!
If you still have them at the end of the month, a) I'll have had time to sweet talk the wife, and b) have been paid!

Was looking at getting another one rebuild by MHT, but would be nice to still be able to keep my storm on the road while the other gets re-valved/sprung etc!
