Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
I don't know what it is about forums, but they seem to always be the populated by individuals who seem to enjoy putting people down and holding a position of superior knowledge and opinion. I detect a distinct air of resentment that I have something, which is simply better than their bike and worth ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
The buyer it appeals to is the historic race bike enthusiast. I was surprised at the event at Cadwell how much interest there is in both the genuine article and 're-creations' of historic race bikes. These aren't used in the true track bike sense. These bikes are loved and used in a very gentlemanly ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
I'd already had the opportunity to sell it at £3,750. I just needed to put it out there to see what the market felt. In the final analyis, that's pretty much today's value. For those who think it was worth £2,000. I just don't get it. Find another like it at all. Never mind for £2,000. Or try bu ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Flog it to Yeti on a dark evening  Very noice VTR race replica but with the nights drawing in are you now waiting for the spring to get out and about on it? I don't ever plan to go far on it. I have a KTM Superduke R, as a number 1 bike. This bike is a curiosity, a folly, something that I ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
There's a story about the front stick coil. After I fitted them, I rode the bike to Donington in the rain and sure enough, it misfired badly. The problem was arcing from the stick coil body to the cylinder head. I wrapped some loom tape around the stick coil - problem solved. I'd skimmed a bit too ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Thanks for that. It was only meant to be a cheap track bike and I got a bit carried away. As usual.

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Fair comment. I've tried to get the best 'bang for my buck'
And with sthe AP and PFM stuff, it' very much the law of diminishing returns, a huge chunk of money for a little improvement. Hence no Moriwaki parts. No disrespect to Moriwaki, but just not feasible for what I was looking to achieve.

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
seriously clean bike mate, I understand about running out of steam, imho it needs some pfm or similar front brakes to complete the looks.... The current set up might not be faithful to the look but they are unbelievably good. The combination of CBR1000RR radial pump with Fireblade ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Here you go... There's a lot of detail stuff to do, but in the end I'd just had enough of it! http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff448/the_goatfister/VTR/20151019_144851_zpslxc7yukk.jpg http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff448/the_goatfister/VTR/20151019_144859_zpshalsoxj6.jpg http://i1236 ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Brilliant job  But you can't leave it with a black belly pan. That is just so un Moriwaki  http://i1338.photobucket.com/albums/o684/REVOLUTIONRACING2/99-VTR1000F-8h-2_zpsbb647690.jpg I really don't like the yellow belly pan. But then, I might just have to go with it over winter to ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Thanks all. I need to re-visit the list of mods. The seat I ended up using was off my 1995 Aprilia RS250. Been in my garage ever since then. I skimmed it down with an angle grinder and bonded it onto the seat unit. Perfect fit! I ended up using a 2014 ZX10R throttle assembly, modified to quick ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
I wouldn't do it again. Just too many one-off jobs achieved in my garage through trial & error, with just hand tools, a TIG welder and an old compressor & spray gun.

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Yes, a completely Moriwaki-Free zone. Next to my Superduke R, the top end power is somewhat absent. However, bottom end and mid-range are a genuine surprise. It wheelies off the throttle in second gear, completely unprovoked and builds revs much more quickly. More to the point, gone is the refined ...

Re: Not a Moriwaki. So what's it worth?
Thanks! I've now fabricated and welded up the aluminium brackets for the fairing, so it won't be long before I can do a final fit up and paint it. The biggest problem has been the height of the clip ons. Very little tolerance between fluid reservoirs fouling the upper fairing and controls fouling ...
