Re: TPS Adjustment: Was 840 - Now 590 Can't get to 500 - No
Hi tempest Yes, it's vacuum. The natural state of an engine is to want to rev its tits off. We stop this (control this progressively) with the twist grip. This is why it's called a throttle, as it strangles the motor to a varying degree. With the engine wanting to pull like crazy, there is low press...

Hi Tempest,
Yep, we're on the same 'journey'.
My TPS, at full normal tilt, got down to 550. With a tiny bend of the carb spindle arm I got down to 508 and left it at that.
Vroom vroom.

Re: TPS Adjustment: Was 840 - Now 590 Can't get to 500 - No
I'm going though the same thing at the moment -> getting a long stood bike on the go. I measured my TPS and it came up at 900. A curious number, exactly 900. I wonder why the factory aimed for these numbers at build. Emissions maybe, but then why would spec sheets say 500 +/- 100. I can only guess t...

Re: Carbs - Mystery Brass Round Thingies?
Thanks Guys, good info. All clean in the carbs now, just gotta put them back on. New battery fitted, new tyres, front CCT converted to manual (whilst I was under than tank). A new front brake light switch and an MOT should see them wheels a-rollin'.... Can't wait to give it a blast. Fingers crossed....

Re: Carbs - Mystery Brass Round Thingies?
Thanks guys, appreciate you support. Having a Laverda, I'm pretty clued up on fiddling with gunked carbs and (out of Dellorto necessity) my garage is blessed with compressed air and an ultrasonic cleaner. I'm confident I'll get these VTR carbs back into shape. To the Firestorm's credit, it did fire ...

Very impressed with the knowledge base :D Lot's of great stuff > I'm trying to resist all the improvements/mods listed here and simply get the bike going before the summer runs out. I'm recommissioning a '98 (red one - you know, the ...
