Re: VFR800 fork cartridges?
I had seen those advertised and wondered if that mod was worth chasing rather than a complete cartridge replacement? Plus the cost is a lot less. I'm in the process of upgrading the front brakes to cbr954 calipers and the forks will be next. Thanks for all the replies and advice, it's good to have a...

VFR800 fork cartridges?
I read that there is a bit of commonality between a vfr800 fork and vtr1000f front forks for the year period. So will Andreani Fork cartridges fit a 2005 vtr1000 Firestorm. I can't find anything that isn't ridiculously expensive and I have used Andreani fork cartridges on a Ducati 900ss and been hap...

hullo!
I've been a "lurker" on the Forum for about five years and figured I should actually introduce myself. About five years ago I had a big v-twin on my bucket list of bikes I've not owned so I bought a 2005 vtr1000 Firestorm. I really enjoyed the bike and it set me on the path of more v-twins...

Re: lithium battery
I have found an answer to my question on this forum by "Stephan" in 2016 Lithium batteries minuses: - performance about 0 degree, you need to wait until battery reach its working temperature - when battery is completely drain, performance can be affected or in worst case, battery destroyed...

lithium battery
I have an Ultrabatt lithium battery in a Ducati 900ss(1995 model) I own with no problem. I would like to fit the same battery to the 2005 model vtr1000 firestorm I own but I have heard that lithium batteries do not like a small drain put on them by alarms or security systems. The vtr1000 has this HI...

Re: SP1 wiring diagram
Thanks for your advice cheekykev,I tackled it this morning and there was only one wire to cut out of the main loom, one on either rear indicators and it's sorted. I had to chase around to see where things went so one side fairing and nose fairing off but it was good to see how this all goes together...

Re: SP1 wiring diagram
Ok, thanks for that.
It makes sense what you say so I'm a lot more confident on not cocking it up!
Thanks all the advice.
Cheers Ian.

Re: SP1 wiring diagram
I must confess, this is my first Fuel injected bike so I'm a bit on edge fiddling around with the electrics and loom. I also don't know what all the relays and sensors do and where they live on the bike. I figured if I could work out by the colouring of the wire where the wiring from the alarm was c...

Re: SP1 wiring diagram
No it's all above board! I just received the bike(bought sight unseen from the other side of the country) and this is the only dodgy thing on the bike I don't like. I've not had to ask any questions before and have used the info off this forum to fit manual cam chain tensioners on my vtr1000f etc. S...

SP1 wiring diagram
I just bought a 2000 model SP1 in Australia. The bike has an alarm fitted to it and I'd like to get rid of it but I need a wiring diagram so I can work out what it's wired into? Any idea where I can get a diagram? I can't identify the alarm as it has nothing written on it.. Many thanks if you can he...
