Yep my rectum, I mean rectifier, went last year and I replaced it with an R6 one after reading an article on this upgrade on the web.
The recifier came from e-bay for about a tenner.

Change brake line to Braided?

Hi All I'm thinking about putting some braided brake lines on the bike. Any recommendations (goodridge or other)? Is it worth it? (I guess it must be or others wouldn't do it) :D How easy is it? Is it just take off old, bolt on new, pump fluid through and bleed? Cheers for any advice. Pete PS. read ...

Last message on this subject. Got an R6 r/r off ebay -> £16.50. Fitted as per the site I mentioned in my first mail -> 5 minutes. Tested the voltage -> spot on. Went for a ride in blazing sunshine, helmsley, pickering, whitby, home ->smiles. Job done with a £125 saving. I love the internet :D Pete

The R1 / R6 replacement is:

Regulator/Rectifier (#718807)
Price: £39.95
5 Pins SH650A-12

The product number SH.... could be for shindengen (I guess seems like the same format on the orig VTR r/r). The one in you pic's looks exactly like the R1 r/r :o)

One other bonus is that the honda rectifier is approx £142
whereas the R1 rectifier is £53.

Prices from local Honda & Yamaha dealers.

That is if you want to go for new manufacturer parts and not buy pattern or second hand parts of course.

Rectifier

Hi All my rectifier burnt out the other day and left me stranded. Luckily I wasn't too far away from home and my wife came through with the car. We jump started the bike & I got home without incident. Anyway, after looking around on the net for some info I can across this site, which swaps the c...

cam chain tensioners - which, where from & how much?

Hi All I need to replace my tensioners, as one went bang the other day. So, do I need to replace with a Honda replacement or is there a better 'after market' option? Also, how much have people paid for replacements - I just rang my local Honda dealer and they're asking £79, is this about right? I t...
