Re: Me

Yes some good bikes you have had. Beautiful part of the world you live, we will be there for the second time in April on a cruise. Only did a short cycle ride in Andalsnes which was good. I'd like to go on motorcycle one day.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Jamoi, is MoT place "friendly"? With rear seat available it should have rear footrests. Ok if cover is on rear seat,

Had a ride out today bit chilly but the muffs work keeping hands warm. Took this photo at finish line for oldest horse race in England, it's been run on this coure for over 500 years

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Got this alarm delivered today. £11.99 inc P+P on ebay. Battery operated will easily fit under seat. It's loud with an annoying siren. It cable ties in position but im going to use it on my pushbike as well so will think of someway to locate it on the Honda.

Re: not spending any money not

I have one of the earlier versions of that RST jacket. As you say they are heavy but it is warm as well. Pocket at back is handy. Problem with mine was it was not good in rain, water soaked through in no time. Hope you have no problem with yours.

Re: Under tray

On the one I fitted on mine (don't know what make it was ) it did give a much larger storage area under the seat which is useful

The bulb in rev counter had blown so I bought some LED cob bulbs off Ebay, £4 for 10 bulbs (they sent 14 bulbs so got spares) fitted them last night. Longer than originals but locate fine. Much brighter than old bulbs looks better as well when lit up.

Re: Pillion footrests + rider footrests

2 up on a storm is a quick way to fall out with your better half ..... although it will be way better that either the RC8 or the GasGas enduro bike, so I guess its all relative  You say quick way to fall out? Helen did well, 10 years pillion on the VTR she prefers the ZZR1400 now but still say...

Good photos & read Al. Rain as usual on Scotland trip but still worth it. Had a look back to when Helen & I joined you, it was 2013 how time flys.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Had my VTR Mot'd yesterday so another is now back on road. Hugger to refit today. Noticed brakes are not as good as my Benelli I've been riding most just lately, have to adjust to that. Looking forward to using it now, will probably keep it on the road through winter to use on decent days. 46,000 mi...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Rear tyre fitted to spare wheel (Pilot road 4 done 40 miles punctured and repaired £30 off ebay). Put it on bike but bearing shows some play so out again fitted good bearing. Replacedfront wheel with spare which had brand new tyre but found brakes binding, off again cleaned brake pistons. Back in ag...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Cleaned bike up and checked it over. Rear disc is too thin down to 3mm so have to fit one off spare wheel. Found a crack in one front disc so will swap over from spares. Picking up rear tyre tomorrow. Fitted replacement stickers as only tank had them when I bought it in 2003 so only taken me 18 year...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Today fitted battery I bought off Marty, pressed button 3 times and it fired up. Not bad for being stood for 6 years. Need a rear tyre then MoT. It will be a different ride to the zzr1400 and Benelli Tornado Tre that I've been bought since VTR was last on road. Not going to be touring on this anymor...
