Hard to start/ slow starter motor.
Hey all, Need some advice on where to start looking for issues incase I'm missing something obvious. 99 vtr front cct went a while back so pulled the head and thankfully only bent two valves, no piston damage. After rebuilding she fired up no problems. I've had her off the road for about a year now ...

just trying to find valves now no one seems to have them, also when replacing the cct do you need to replace the assembly that pushes against the chain as well?

Hey all good news the heads out
no damage to piston but both inlet valves are bent so two new valves and a cct and the vtr will sing again

Yea there soaking in wd40 right now so hopefully wont be too much grief tomorrow when i go to remove it, hopefully theres no damage to the piston and its just a case of new cct and replace the bent valves

Yea already stripped carbs exhaust off and drained coolant so just need to get oil cooler off and were good to go as long as the bolts on the head play game
just to make sure when lining up the crank its counter clockwise you turn it? Cheers

Hey thanks for reply yea going to try get head off while still in the frame, it is the front cylinder as i can see 1 bent valve when i removed the carbs.

yea manual ccts will be going in as soon as i see how much damage there is. Im off on thursday so should have a better idea then.

the bolts on top of the head look like there going to need some work to remove, taking off the carbs i seen 1 bent valve so going to remove engine to check over everything before i decided to either repair it or just get another engine.

Hi all, So disaster struck on way to work the other day there, front cct/chain snapped and that horrible sound of a bag of spanners in the engine began. I have pulled off tank air box filter drained coolant ect. My question is before splitting the frame to get the engine out to see extent of damage ...
