Re: Europe - In or Out?
I thank God that the EU came swooping in and stopped the rampant raping and pillaging, mistreatment of workers, and child-poisoning that was so prevalent after we either beat or saved the majority of them in multiple wars and battles. Hurrah for the EU, we'd have never become civilised without them!...

That's a very cool colour scheme. I think a black pinstripe at the join would look great!

Would one of these help with reassembly? Not sure on the diameter of the can.

If you're doing it on the side stand I'd bleed the lower one first

Another Sheffield Stormer, must be a popular bike round here! I've just joined the club too, near Crystal Peaks. Ayup!

Re: shortening standard cans
No wadding? Are there baffles in the tube to keep it quiet then? Yes perforated tubes. Do a search for Bafflectomy. Just looked at a few photos, 3 tubes looks familiar now, been a long time since I chopped a standard can apart. Ant, are you going to weld the rear of the can back on or replace with ...

That's good to know.
I had an EXUP 1000 failed on a missing chain guard a few years ago! Cheeky git!
Cheers

Re: shortening standard cans
There's usually just wadding and the perforated tube. Sometimes an extra baffle too. Not seen inside the storm ones though.
You could look at replacing the end-cap with something larger or nicer too, places like PJEngineering sell them in specific sizes one might fit.

Hugger options
Hi all No, this is not a pick-up line... I need a hugger for the Storm (or a chain guard at the minimum for the MOT) but can really afford, or justify a new one on a bike that needs more general tidying. I just missed one on eBay last week but they don't seem to come up often. I was wondering if hug...

Re: side stand switch
Have you got a multimeter to check the switch is working? As far as I can tell from the wiring diagram the clutch switch is connected to the side stand switch and the ICM one side and the starter relay and a diode on the other, so not too many things to check. I'd go with the Clutch switch or the di...

Re: A12 driver banned after caught speeding 5 times in a mon
I would have thought that all the cameras would have to have a tolerance for error built in as surely otherwise that would need calibrating on a regular basis. With wind, rain, snow, power surges etc that's bound to have some form of impact on their accuracy. I agree mate, probably just more scarem...

Re: side stand switch
There are 2 connections by the clutch lever, check they're both connected. If one or both are off it will need to be in neutral to start.

Re: A12 driver banned after caught speeding 5 times in a mon
Hadecs is the new one on "smart" motorways, only supposed to be active when the variable speed limit sign is lit up but I saw 2 go off when I picked the Storm up 2 weeks ago and couldn't see a speed limit on the signs (looking back as I passed). Saw an ambulance get flashed too heading to ...
