Re: Tango'd Storm

I'd be very interested to know how difficult it was to mate the triumph hub to the vfr arm. Is the hub or spindle the same diameter, or was there some machining involved ? Actually it was less difficult that I first thought. Main points: 1. I started off with a pre-VTEC VFR800 swinger, around 1999 ...

Re: Tango'd Storm

The breather's a one-off. I live close to Silverstone circuit and a mate of mine works for Earls. It's not a kit, just a length of Earls braided hose with a Honda fitment to replace the oil filler cap. I got the tapered filter on ebay. That is a nice bike for sure! Why have this breather? And why c...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Pete, Kev - that is the burning question... Got some things I want to try on the Firestorm. First thing is more power: tune the motor perhaps (what will I get, 135 useable bhp tops?), nitrous maybe, or even explore my loony idea of fitting an SP2 motor. Turbo or supercharger were briefly considered ...

Re: Wossiss then? An oil deflecter???

Makes more sense that it just deadens sound a bit, as the smooth patterns on it won't do much to stop oil centrifuging. They'd surely have put protruding blades or something like that on them if that was the case. I wondered if it was to keep the oil in if you dropped it and wore through the outsid...

Well spotted - is indeed Ford Focus ST "Electric Orange". Bloody lovely in the sunshine (not that we're getting much of that this summer...).

Re: Wossiss then? An oil deflecter???

How cares about a noisy clutch (or a noisy sprocket for that matter). Probably won't hear 'em over my noisy can!

It didn't look like it did much so good news for my windowed clutch cover!!

Thanks guys

Re: Tango'd Storm

Bikes a credit to your skill mate  Still lovin the back end its pure class and suits the rest of the bike perfectly. Only problem with seeing bikes like this is all the ideas i get then the credit card takes a bashing then the missus gives me a bashing. Hi Steve This might surprise you ...

Re: Tango'd Storm

I guess it's all a matter of personal taste. Some will like, some won't. For me it was typical streetfighter motivations - start with a fantastic engine/frame combo and improve the handling and performance. But something different from the same old Bandit?GSXR formula. GSXR 750K2 front end works rea...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Message for "Jonesey". Mate, got your PM but my reply won't budge from my "outbox" for some reason. Just won't send. Can anyone advise how to fix this PM problem? Seems it's happened before judging from an old thread elsewhere on the forum. So here's my reply... The breather's a...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Yep, a pre-VTEC VFR800 swinger with a Triumph Speed Triple wheel and axle/hub assembly. The cush drive's Triumph (I machined the castings on the outside for a smooth finish) with a Renthal sprocket. Brembo caliper on a one-off mount with brake line and speedo sensor wiring routed internally through ...

Re: Tango'd Storm

I dont normally go for the streetfighter look, but the thought and detail design on this bike is F**k'n amazing! so many one off solutions, and nothing done the easy or expected way, the overall look is great. I salute your vision and your hard work! PS Is the steering damper bolted into ...

Wossiss then? An oil deflecter???

Does anyone know what the metal plate and rubber disc on the inside of the right side engine case (clutch side) are for? See pics attached: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3487/3761375549_b6e36f724d.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2670/3761375557_b62fd9839a.jpg?v=0 I'm thinking of having the c...

Re: Tango'd Storm

Thanks for the comments guys. The front fairing is from Pyramid Plastics (http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk). Below are some more pics showing the rad but basically it's a one-off built to my design by Docking Engineering at Silverstone. There's not enough space under the headstock for a traditional...
